Kira Systems understands that the coronavirus (COVID-19) is impacting everyone around the world. In the interests of our customers, our staff, their families and their communities, we have taken a number of steps to do our part in reducing the risk associated with this outbreak and ensuring we can continue to service our customers through this challenging time.
- As of March 13, 2020, our Toronto office will be closed. Kira Systems will be operating “business as usual”, but all employees who use the Toronto office will be working remotely from home and we will not be conducting any other business in alternate locations. Kira Systems started as a completely remote working company, and so this transition is one that takes us back to our roots. That said, we are comfortable and fully support remote working and don’t expect any changes or disruptions to our technologies or daily operations. Kira Systems has a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) in place and will follow it as we continue to monitor the situation.
- We have asked our employees to cease any business travel to impacted countries (which we will continue to monitor and update). Our employees have also been advised to cease any non-essential business travel that could expose employees unnecessarily to the virus at airports and closed environments.
- We continue to be customer-focused and value face-to-face meetings, but we will conduct all meetings via video conference. As of March 13, 2020, all employees will be working from home, which will eliminate any interaction risk. We have the infrastructure in place to conduct all meetings remotely and Kira Systems’ technology runs without any kind of manual involvement from our end. We are also exploring other ways to reduce non-essential contact, including reducing the number of staff at large events and conferences, and our participation in all large-scale events is under ongoing review.
Take care, and should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
